It's Cool to be Connected
It's Cool To Be Connected
Now, there are two ways for Verizon's retirees to stay connected to what is happening at Verizon. One is this Web site customized just for retirees and the other is by e-mail.

E-Mail
Verizon is in the process of collecting retiree e-mail addresses. In the first week of June, a postcard like the one in the picture above was mailed to all 210,000 Verizon retirees asking all of you to register your e-mail addresses and also telling you about this retiree Web site. It is important to note, providing your e-mail address to Verizon is completely voluntary and by registering your e-mail address you are consenting to receiving e-mail from Verizon from time to time about topics of interest to Verizon retirees.

If you haven't done so already, please take a few minutes and register your e-mail address with Verizon. For instructions on how to register your e-mail address and how go get one free if you don't have one at this time, click here: E-mail Registration Instructions.

To see a copy of the post card that was recently mailed to retirees' homes, click on the picture above.

eWeb on the Internet Web site for Retirees
This Web site was created just for Verizon's retirees. It is a place where you can keep connected to what is happening at Verizon as well as find information that is customized just for Verizon's retirees. Your Retiree Home Page is part of Verizon's "eWeb on the Internet" which was established to give both employees and retirees a central place on the Internet to get Verizon's Top News Stories and other information about the company.

By creating an Internet Web site, Verizon provided a way for both employees and retirees to have access to company information from anywhere they have access to the Internet.

Below is a list of some of the information currently available from the Retiree Section of the eWeb on the Internet. We hope you will find it useful.

  • The Retiree Home Page - To be updated with information just for retirees
  • VZ Retiree Contact List - A list of numbers and Web site addresses you'll need for information about your benefits from Verizon after retirement
  • In Memoriam
  • Verizon Retiree Benefits News - Here you will find copies of your annual Benefits Renewal materials which are mailed to your home; copies of benefits related e-mail sent from the Retiree Communications e-mail box
  • Discounts for Retirees - When you click on the Discounts link on the left side of the screen under "Retirees," you will be linked to information about Retiree discounts. Many discounts that were available to you as an employee are available to retirees as well.
  • Grassroots Action Center - Check this section often to keep up-to-date on the latest Verizon position on government policy issues affecting our business, and ways you can contact your elected representatives in support of different legislative initiatives.
Be sure to bookmark this page and check back from time to time for new information. Also, if you registered your e-mail address, you'll be receiving e-mails from Verizon on a myriad of topics in the future. It's great that technology has allowed us to get reconnected with all of you again.
