| Dear Verizon Retirees:
Beginning tomorrow, Sept. 1, you will have just one phone number
to remember to call for information about your Verizon retirement
benefits and other Verizon programs for retirees. The number is
1-877-Ask-VzHR (1-877-275-8947). When you call this number, you
can access all types of Human Resources information including, but
not limited to, your:
- Savings Plan, Retirement and Pension
- Health Care and Benefits Center
- Dependant Coverage
- COBRA
- Health Plans
- Benefit Center
- Life and Disability
- Beneficiaries and Coverage
- Report a Death
- Connect to a Plan
- HR Helpline and Payroll
- HR Helpline
- W2 and W4
- Payroll Questions
- Name and Address Changes
- Company Programs
- Mental Health Network
- Adoption Assistance
- Legal Services
- Phone Concessions
- Direct Billing and Payments
Providing one HR phone number is part of Verizon's efforts to ensure
you have easy access and quality service for your human resource needs.
In addition, as the company continues to streamline and integrate
HR services over the next several months, other services may be accessible
via AskVzHR.
Other important items to note about this change
- You can still access an individual HR program provider, such
as Fidelity, MetLife, United Healthcare, etc., by calling them
directly. You do not have to go through the AskVzHR menu.
- The former Verizon Benefits Center number (1-866-998-8777) will
eventually be disconnected. However, it will be active for a limited
period of time to transition everyone to our new 1-877-Ask-VzHR
(1-877-275-8947).
- Your 2005 benefits enrollment materials will only include the
AskVzHR number for enrollment activities and information.
